Federal and Provincial Bursaries and Loans
In all cases, the basic qualification for a federal or provincial loan is that applicants be Canadian citizens or permanent residents, with one year's residency without pursuing full-time studies, and living in the province to which they apply.

When a student applies for financial assistance from the government (federal or provincial), confirmation of enrollment is required on the application form; this confirmation of enrollment is signed by the Financial Aid and Awards Office at your university. In all provinces except Quebec, the provincial authority administers the Canada Student Loan Plan (federal), as well as its own programs.
